Purchase of Own Shares

SVG announces that on 10 April 2012 the Company purchased 170,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 284.8266 pence per share (with the highest price being 285.5 pence and the lowest being 283.1 pence per share) representing approximately 0.06 per cent of the Company's current issued ordinary share capital.  These 170,000 ordinary shares are to be held in treasury.

For the purposes of the Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of ordinary shares in issue as at the date of this notice (excluding 8,347,410 Ordinary Shares held in treasury) is 286,484,190.

The figure of 286,484,190 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they can determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

Following the purchase, the cumulative number of shares purchased during the period from 23 September 2011 to date is 23,923,733 ordinary shares.
