Q. What is the relationship between SVG Capital and Permira?

SVG Capital is an investor in Permira's private equity funds.


Q. Who advises SVG Capital?

A.
SVG Capital has two subsidiaries, SVG Advisers Limited and SVG Advisers Inc., who are responsible for advising the Board on its assessments of investment opportunities and investment strategy.


Q. How does SVG Capital make investment decisions?

A.
An investment proposition is presented to the Investment Committee (which consists of five of the Board members) for their consideration.


Q. How do I invest in SVG Capital?

Q. Do I qualify for capital gains tax relief if I invest in SVG Capital?

A.
SVG Capital is not a Venture Capital Trust (VCT), therefore investors in SVG Capital do not qualify for capital gains tax relief.


Q. How often are the net assets valued?

A.
The portfolio is valued twice a year, in December (for the twelve month period) and June (for the six month period). The Company reports results for the six and twelve month period in August and March respectively.


Q. Does SVG Capital pay dividends?

A.
SVG Capital has the ability to pay dividends. However, its investment objective is one of capital growth and it is anticipated that any returns for shareholders will derive primarily from the capital appreciation of its ordinary shares rather than from dividend income.

Q. What is the relationship between SVG Capital, SVG Advisers Limited and SVG Advisers Inc?

SVG Advisers Limited and SVG Advisers Inc. are wholly owned subsidiaries of SVG Capital plc. These two companies form the fund management and advisory business of SVG Capital and provide investment advisory services to SVG Capital plc and third parties on investment in private equity and public equity using private equity techniques.
